Wieland is hiring a Production Planner. The Production Planner will create and schedule production orders for the Tube Mill to achieve and maintain excellent On-Time Performance, maximizing yield and minimizing scrap. Communicate updates to sales, production and purchasing. This role is located in Wheeling, IL and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities
Production Planner Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain internal bill of materials and routings to ensure customer specifications.
- Gross plan new customer orders based on internal capacity and supplier capacity.
- Submit Purchase Requisitions comparing demand vs. inventory vs. finished goods.
- Fine plan customer orders to ensure on-time delivery (maintain yield & minimize scrap)
- Assess production capacity and adjust schedules to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
- Work with the procurement team to ensure that the required raw materials, components, and supplies are available on time.
- Collaborate with production team to address any issues or delays in the production process.
- Monitor and record whether the production schedule is being followed, noting any deviations, delays, or changes to production timelines.
- Identify and verify discrepancies while maintaining accuracy in inventory.
