SUMMARY
Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to the plant floor’s safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs highly skilled duties to install and maintain production machines and equipment.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled equipment repairs during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
- Interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and makes adjustments.
- Uses various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Executes simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Detects faulty operations and defective material and reports those to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Works with the production department to identify maintenance issues and requirements.
- Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by following a preventative maintenance program; operating and testing procedures and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
- Improves working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, and cost).
- Works safely and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, including cleaning at the end of shift.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum five years’ equipment maintenance experience preferred.
- Professional technical training in maintenance repair or related fields is desired.
- Experience using hand tools, gauges, dials, and/or other indicators to ensure machines are working correctly.
- Being skilled with electrical and mechanical malfunctions and equipment failures.
- You may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in an area of specialty.
- Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

- It is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching all day.
- It is frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. If items are heavier than 50 pounds, seek the help of a lifting device, or request the assistance of a fellow employee(s) for a team lift.
- Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment, including, but not limited to, steel toe shoes/boots, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
- Wearing loose-fitting clothes is not permitted in some areas, and wearing jewelry such as rings, bracelets, and necklaces is not allowed.
- The facility is not climate-controlled, so heat in the summer and cold in the winter are factors.
