Job Description
">The Assistant Director of Marketing and Business Development-Litigation plays a critical role in supporting the success of our firm's marketing and business development efforts. This position works closely with lawyers and the marketing team to implement and execute marketing programs, develop strategic initiatives, and provide exceptional support to practice groups.
Key Responsibilities
">- Develops and executes strategic programs that reinforce business development priorities for practices and tracks progress.
- Manages internal and external resources in the execution of marketing activities, including presentation preparation, RFP responses, thought leadership activities, and client relationship events.
- Identifies speaking and authorship opportunities with professional and trade organizations.
- Evaluates sponsorship and event opportunities and makes recommendations to our team, practice groups, and lawyers about participation value.
- Performs analysis of competitors through marketing research.
- Works with practices to coordinate emerging industry trends and issues assessments, providing insight into service offerings.
- Assists in content preparation for third-party ranking submissions, including Chambers, Legal 500, Law360, and others as assigned.
- Drafts internal communications.
- Develops and maintains marketing materials and tracks experience and matters.
- Organizes, manages, and supports client events, seminars, and webinars.
- Cross-practice coordination for cross-selling initiatives.
- Ensures well-written, up-to-date representative client lists and matters/deal descriptions, maintaining descriptions in the firm database.
- Assists with editing, layout, and production of firm and practice group marketing materials (client electronic alerts and updates).
- Develops/manages website content, newsletters, brochures, and other external communication pieces related to relevant practices and geographic initiatives.
Requirements
">- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6 years' experience in strategic marketing and business development in a professional services environment; previous experience at a law firm is preferred.
- Strong proofreading, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and basic understanding of law firm practice.
- Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and build relationships with diverse individuals.
- Superior project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, creative, entrepreneurial culture.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; knowledge of CRMs, email software, and proposal software a plus.
- Able to travel to other office locations and work in a hybrid remote/office environment.
