BASIC PURPOSE:
Under the direction of their Sales Manager, maximizes profitable sales retention of all WIKA Products through business partners and customers within an assigned business model – channel, distribution, or OEM.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:
- Owns a sales quota/budget for an assigned account base
- Retains, develops and grows sales for assigned accounts based on business model, market segment, or specified product line and technology
- Identifies and uncovers market needs and trends in cooperation with Sales Managers through penetration, execution, and retention sales initiatives
- Interfaces directly with business partners/customers
- Leads sales meetings and travels to business partner/customer sites to support business objectives
- Collaborates with and leads cross-functional projects in support of sales objectives
- Works directly with Market Segment Specialists and Outside sales in prospecting of sales leads identified by Marketing services, Tradeshows, etc.
- Coordinates with Product Engineering to drive various sales opportunities forward
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously, as necessary, to increase operational efficiency
- Coordinates market and product-based trainings with business partners/customers
- Enables full transparency to sales efforts via CRM by updating accounts, contacts, leads, and opportunities in a timely and thorough manner
- Maintains up-to-date and adequate pipeline to meet goals
- Participates in National, Regional, and local trade shows
- Files monthly sales report, advance itinerary, and expense reports on a timely basis
- Utilizes WIKA sales process tools
- Initiates and participates in continuous improvement efforts related to sales
- Ability to support up to 20% overnight travel
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering or Associates Degree with equivalent work experience required
- 3 years industrial/technical experience in sales/marketing/engineering
- Previous experience with instrumentation or measurement technologies preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team
- Excellent group presentation skills
- Comfortable with customer-facing discussions and business communication
- Highly organized and has very effective time management skills
- Ability to work cross functionally with other members of the sales and marketing organization
- Strong negotiating skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and CRM software
