Backyard Bird Feeding Specialist Responsibilities:
- Determine Needs and Wants of Customer and Create a High Energy Customer Experience Every Time - Our #1 Priority!
- Achieve Solid Product and Hobby Knowledge which is Critical to Helping our Customers Enjoy the Hobby of Backyard Bird Feeding
- Learn and Accurately Operate our POS System to Ring Up Customers' Purchases
- Extend Customer Service to Customers' Vehicles by Carrying out their Purchases
- Unload and Stack new Seed Deliveries
- Replenish Floor Supply of all Seed and other products; Rotate all Stock
- Accurately Check in all Merchandise Shipments, noting Overages, Shortages or Damage
- Price merchandise accurately; Restock Floor as Needed
- Maintain Good Housekeeping Standards for a Well-Presented Store
- Pack, Label, and Process Online Orders
Backyard Bird Feeding Specialist Requirements:
- Must be able to Lift, Stack and Carry 20-40 Pounds of Bird Seed
- Must be able to Bend Down, Reach Up, Climb Step Stool and Ladder, and Spend Extended Periods of Time on One's Feet (up to 8 hours)
- We are Open 6 Days a Week. Weekend Availability is a Requirement, as is Availability for the days Leading up to and following a Holiday.
- Well-groomed and neat appearance, including shirts with Wild Birds Unlimited Logo (which will be provided for you)
Backyard Bird Feeding Specialist Qualifications:
- Great Communication and Customer Service Skills a Must
- Commitment to the Hobby of Bird Feeding
- Enthusiastic Appreciation of Nature; Knowledge of Backyard Birds; Currently Feeding Birds (preferred)
- Retail Sales: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
- Ability to Identify and Prioritize Tasks that Need to be Completed without being asked
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to follow directions and complete work as trained
