ABOUT WILDFIRE ENERGY:
WildFire Energy is an independent energy company focused on the acquisition, exploitation, and production of oil and natural gas properties in the United States through the application of modern technology and production optimization. WildFire’s principal assets are located in the Brazos Valley area of the eastern Eagle Ford. Due to our rapid growth, we are adding key positions to our dynamic Land team.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Landman will be responsible for day-to-day land management of existing assets, negotiating and preparing asset trade agreements including joint development agreements, joint operating agreements, farm-out agreements, and working interest and fee minerals purchase agreements, and other tasks required in support of Wildfire Energy’s management of its existing assets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all land functions related to non-operated activities, including ownership calculations, AFE handling, JOA and title review, and working in conjunction with division order and accounting
- Responsible for all inbound acquisition opportunities from mineral owners and non-operated working interest owners
- Proficient in lease and contract drafting; ability to interpret and administer complex contracts and agreements
- Research and report the company’s ownership position, competitor activity, potential legal issues, or other matters for the purpose of decision making and strategic planning
- Serve as liaison with landowners on ownership, rights, damage claims and access issues

LOCATION/WORK SCHEDULE:
- Office Location: Houston, TX
- Work Schedule: Mon - Thurs in office with Flex-Fridays (remote option every Friday)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Proficiency in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and the ability to learn new software or applications, additionally:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills
- High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated knowledge of upstream oil and gas Land/Land Administration
- Highly-driven and self-motivated
- Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
- Experience with Quorum OnDemand Land, ArcGIS software is preferred but not required
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field from an accredited four-year university
- 5 years of relevant industry Land work experience
