School Counselor Position – Half Time – Wildflower Open Classroom
Position Overview
Wildflower Open Classroom is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will support students' academic, social, and emotional development by providing counseling services, implementing guidance programs, and collaborating with educators, parents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to support their academic, social, and emotional well-being.
- Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that promote student success.
- Identify and address student challenges, including academic struggles, behavioral concerns, and social-emotional issues.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a supportive educational environment.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and peer mediation programs.
- Conduct crisis intervention and provide referrals to external mental health resources when needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with school policies and legal requirements.
- Organize and lead workshops on topics such as stress management, student behaviors, and social skills development.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working in a school setting, preferably in a charter school environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse school community.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding student counseling services.
