JOB SUMMARY
Assists the Head Golf Professional in managing daily golf shop operations, including player tracking, merchandizing, tournaments and special events, and office administration. Shall supervise Pro Shop staff on shift.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides excellent customer service to customers and internal business partners and ensures satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
- Manages the daily operations of the Pro Shop, which may require general office duties, including filing, writing letters, memorandums, and other related duties.
- Assists the Head Golf Professional and Human Resources in recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring, supervising, and scheduling a seasonal staff.
- Interfaces with WRC staff and departments to communicate daily activities, golf promotions, and special events taking place and to ensure the integration of those service functions to meet customer expectations.
- Complies and enforces operating policies, procedures, and training for areas of assigned responsibility, including POS procedures, customer service training, work schedules, slow play guidelines, etc.
- Implements and monitors daily tee sheets to increase yield and utilization.
- Responds to and resolves inquiries, questions, and complaints from resident and non-resident customers, and employees regarding policies and procedures, course conditions, speed of play, customer service, etc., and refers to the Head Professional as necessary.
- Serves as course Marshall, monitoring the schedule and pace of play.
- Assists in scheduling, organizing, and coordinating tournaments, leagues, and special golf events.
- Prepares and monitors purchasing documents, coordinating information with accounting.
- Responsible for inventory controls in the Golf Shop and monitoring merchandise levels and sales.
- Works closely with Golf Professionals in group instruction settings and golf clinics.
- Works at times as Driving Range or Golf Cart Attendant as required during rush/peak periods/events.
- Keeps the Golf Shop neat and clean, inside and outside, as well as restocked with merchandise.
- Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly addresses critical safety issues and reports all concerns to Head Golf Professional.
- Ensures operation of equipment, tools, materials, etc. are handled safely.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
- In the Golf Professional’s absence, assume supervision of golf operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and knowledge of the golf industry including golf course operations, merchandising, public relations, golf tournaments, and swing mechanics OR PGA Member or Apprentice having completed level one of the PGA Apprentice Program (2) and working in level two (2) PGA Apprenticeship Program
- Two (2) years of customer service experience.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Valid state Driver's License and meets WRC insurance requirements.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills, both oral and written, and possesses basic math and literacy skills to comprehend and implement golf rules, regulations, and policies.
- Excellent personal appearance and hygiene habits.
- Requires a criminal history background check.
- Needs to stand, bend, lift, and maneuver items and performs repetitive movement of arms, hands, and fingers as needed throughout a standard work day.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active in PGM, PGA, or LPGA to obtain "A" membership and a desire to become a Head Golf Professional.
- Bachelor’s degree in a golf-related field.
