Position Summary
Sign Shop Specialists craft, assemble, and install various types of wayfinding, marketing and exhibit signage and graphics for all five WCS parks. Responsibilities include selecting materials, operating machinery, and ensuring quality control. Expertise in precision work and attention to detail is essential.

Principal Responsibilities
- Complete work orders in a reasonable timeframe as determined by the Manager, Sign Shop.
- Fabricate and install signage and graphics.
- Operate and maintain various machinery and other tools to fabricate signs.
- Maintain, repair and/or restore signage and graphics. Select appropriate materials and methods for each sign project.
- Inform Supervisor on inventory of supplies to ensure proper materials are on hand to complete requested work.
- Keep work area clean and organized, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Maintain large equipment and all tools of the trade. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with EGAD designers to ensure signage quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Coordinate installation of work with other WCS departments as required.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to stay up-to-date on industry trends and techniques.
- Minimum qualifications include high-school diploma or equivalency.
- 3 years of professional experience working in either the graphic design industry, sign fabrication business or working as a studio assistant in an art handling and installation firm.
- Experience with sign fabrication tools and equipment such as saws and routers.
- Knowledge of various fabrication techniques including bending, cutting, and shaping of various materials.
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications accurately.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with other fabricators and designers.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all relevant safety regulations and protocols.
- The physical demands include but are not limited to use of a Keyboard, 10-key, Mouse, and Telephone Use, Handwriting, Sitting, Standing, Crouching, Kneeling, Bending, Walking, Stair Climbing, minimal Driving, and Lifting up to 50lbs.
- The workplace conditions and environment of the role include working indoors, closely with others, and/or alone, exposure to excess noise, operate power tools and equipment and use sharp tools and equipment.
