Shipping Manager
Location: Sandpoint, IdahoReports to: Director of Operations

Wildwood Grilling is a leading manufacturer of high-quality wood products. We specialize in palletized shipments across the United States and are committed to delivering our products to customers on time, damage-free, and at the best possible shipping costs.
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Manager to oversee our shipping operations, optimize freight costs, ensure timely and accurate shipments, and lead a small team.
Key ResponsibilitiesShipping & Logistics Management
- Manage all domestic shipments, including LTL (Less-Than-Truckload), full truckload, and small parcel.
- Ensure all shipments are accurately processed and documented in UPS Worldship, ShipStation, and our ERP system.
- Optimize the most cost-effective shipping methods while maintaining delivery timelines.
- Monitor and track freight cost per revenue dollar and on-time delivery rate to improve shipping efficiency.
- Work closely with carriers and warehouse teams to resolve shipment delays, damage claims, and delivery issues.
- Work closely in a team model with colleagues in other company areas to get the best results for everyone.
- Maintain compliance with all shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Identify and implement operational improvements to streamline shipping workflows.
- Develop and maintain best packaging, loading, and shipment preparation practices to minimize damage and claims.
- Ensure accurate shipping weights, dimensions, and classifications are used for proper freight rating and invoicing.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise and manage a team of two shipping personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shipping area, ensuring all team members follow proper procedures.
- Train and certify team members in forklift operation as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to analyze shipping costs and optimize freight expenses.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and develop a small team in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift certification (or ability to become certified upon hire).
- Comfortable working in a hands-on capacity
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management preferred.
- Knowledge of LTL, full truckload, and small parcel shipping methods.
- Experience using UPS Worldship, ShipStation, and ERP systems.
Physical Requirements
The physical activities required to perform the job, are standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 40 lbs repeatedly, pushing, pulling, and reaching, and climbing stairs.
This job is approximately 40% sitting at a computer, and 60% actively arranging shipments.
This job requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Environmental conditions: This job is in a warehouse, however the doors are often open. With that come seasonal temperatures, both high and low. This position also requires the team member to go outside multiple times daily.
Job Type: Full-time; Salary
Pay: $50,000 - $60,000 annually DOE
