Summary
This position provides assistance to the general manager at a 15 acre resort on south Lake Whatcom. Most work will be performed outdoors and will be subject to inclement weather and differing temperatures. Must be able to work independently and with little supervision. This position reports to the General Manager. Employment begins May 1st through Labor Day as a 4-day work week. 24-32 hours per week.
Essential functions
This list is ILLUSTRATIVE only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by employees. Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
· Assist GM in all operational duties and provide coverage during GM days off.
· Assist homeowners with operational questions, etc.
· Perform grounds maintenance duties including weeding, watering, beach maintenance, trail maintenance, wetland maintenance, sidewalk and road blowing and trash pickup.
· Janitorial duties including cleaning restrooms in two buildings, event cleanup, fuel dock tidy and clubhouse cleanup.
· Opening Pool and Spa- Water quality, balance chemicals, clean pool, furniture and deck.
· Well water system maintenance, including water quality test.
· Repairs and maintenance including painting, furniture/fence repair, building maintenance, etc.
Qualifications
Required
· Experience with blowers, string trimmers and various hand tools
· Handy with fixing things & troubleshooting
· Experience gardening- knowledge of native and ornamental plants
· Experience cleaning
· Friendly and helpful attitude
Preferred
· Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, hospitality, and pool/spa operator skills
· Horticulture, biology or ecology experience
· CPR/First Aid certified, pesticide applicators license
Ability to:
· Work outside in inclement weather
· Lift 50 lbs.
· Use pressure washer, weed eater, blowers, backpack sprayer, hedge trimmer, etc.
· Frequently walk, stand and climb ladders.
· Maintain tact, patience and courtesy when dealing with owners, guests, and vendors.
· Communicate both orally and in writing.
· Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Skills in:
License and Certification requirements
Must have a valid Washington state driver’s license.
Job perks:
