Position Overview
The Vice President of Asset Management provides leadership in managing Wilkinson Corporation’s property portfolio by overseeing operational performance, ensuring compliance, and developing strategies for growth. This role manages their own set of properties while guiding the asset management team to implement best practices and meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement asset management strategies to optimize portfolio performance.
- Set performance benchmarks and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the asset management team.
Portfolio Management:
- Oversee a portfolio of assigned properties, ensuring operational and financial performance aligns with corporate expectations.
- Collaborate with property managers to improve efficiency, address challenges, and implement enhancements at assigned properties.
Financial Oversight:
- Approve and oversee budgets to establish revenue and expense guidelines.
- Monitor financial performance against goals and evaluate portfolio success using performance metrics and dashboards.
- Review financial reports for assigned properties to ensure accuracy and alignment with projections.
Operational Excellence:
- Review and evaluate property management company performance across the portfolio.
- Oversee capital improvement projects, including renovations, efficiency initiatives, and repairs for both the portfolio and assigned properties.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Partner with property management companies to ensure effective operations for all properties.
- Work closely with acquisitions and dispositions teams to support property transactions.
Risk Management:
- Review and approve insurance options and monitor risk exposure across the portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations for all managed properties.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Oversee real estate tax strategies, including appeals and accrual verification.
- Ensure timely and accurate lender reporting and compliance with debt covenants.
- Conduct regular site visits for all properties, including assigned ones, to inspect performance and conditions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with senior leadership, investors, and other stakeholders to communicate portfolio and property performance.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in asset management with a focus on multifamily properties.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and overseeing property portfolios.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and property management software.
- Advanced knowledge of real estate finance, operations, and risk management.
