Technology Manager

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Manager to lead and manage the development of cloud applications on the Azure platform. This role will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and innovative cloud-based solutions. As the Technical Manager, you will lead a talented team of developers and engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive best practices for cloud application development and architecture.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manage both in-house technology team and offshore outsource team for the right solution delivery in a timely manner.
• Manage multiple technical projects working with IT, third party, and in-house technology team, including technical project planning, monitoring, and controlling the project performance.
• Manage technology team, infrastructure, and third-party budget (CapEx, OpEx) and reporting. Define and substantiate technology investment strategy. Vendor management including contracts with 3rd party to ensure costs are aligned with the budget.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cloud developers and engineers to design and build high-quality cloud-based applications on Azure.
• Provide technical guidance, career development, and performance evaluations for team members.
• Coordinate resource allocation and project timelines to ensure successful delivery of cloud application development projects.

Cloud Architecture & Development:

• Design, architect, and implement scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions using Azure services (e.g., Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Kubernetes Service, etc.).
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for cloud-based applications, including planning, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Ensure high-quality coding standards, maintainability, and scalability of applications.
• Lead efforts to implement and enforce best practices in cloud development, including DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security standards.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with clients, sales, product managers, business analysts, and other technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Engage with stakeholders to set clear technical goals, manage expectations, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in cloud computing, Azure services, and software development best practices.
• Evaluate new Azure tools and technologies to enhance application performance, security, and scalability.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
• Cloud Security & Compliance:
• Ensure cloud applications adhere to security best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Implement security measures such as identity management, encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management to protect cloud-based applications and data.

Reporting & Metrics:

• Track and report on project progress, key performance indicators (KPIs), and technical issues.
• Provide regular updates to senior management regarding project timelines, risks, and achievements.

• Familiarity with scaling cloud infrastructure in Azure, monitoring and alerting, security, containers and Kubernetes, and CI/CD, Kafka and other real-time streaming data pipelines, SQL and no-SQL DB..
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Active Directory, Azure DevOps, Azure Key Vault, etc.
• Thorough understanding of microservices architecture and coding experience in Java or .Net environment, Node.js.
• Understanding of AI/ML, and new technologies such as LLM.
• Experience of mobile UI/UX design, database & storage, Networking and API integration, Security, performance optimization. Multiplatform coding tools such as capacitor.js.
• Understanding of Virtual Networking, Network Security, Hybrid Networking, Load balancing and Traffic management
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools such as ADO, JIRA, or Trello.
• Proven expertise in SaaS development.
• Experience with cloud security practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute on competing priorities.
• Good understanding of SOC2, NIST, ISO, GDPR compliance.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• 10 years of experience of leading technology teams, including extensive offshore outsourced team coordination and management.
• 5 years of experience in cloud application development with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• 5 years of experience of managing growing SaaS solutions.
• 10 years of software engineering, systems engineering or similar experience.
• Proven success as a project manager for software teams.
• Exposure to resource intensive industry, such as energy, mining, or construction.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies and productivity tools like MS DevOPS/JIRA.
• Software development experience as a developer
