Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining property and building, and repairing the various electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the plant.

Responsibilities:

• Based on production needs, repairing and maintaining machinery.
• Installing, removing, relocating equipment and/or machinery.
• Dismantling, reassembling, securing machinery; setting-up auxiliary pieces (i.e., platforms, racks).
• Periodically inspecting air make-up units, air conditioners, exhaust systems, etc.
• Erecting scaffolds and performing simple rigging as necessary.
• Performing simple property or building repairs as necessary.
• Contributing to the establishment of Quality Control Standards.
• Implementing safety and good housekeeping practices.
• Tasks are varied, requiring independent action and decision making.
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping
• Moderate lifting up to 50 pounds
• Moderate carrying up to 50 pounds

• Ability to read, write, and calculate advanced computations
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings

• Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
• High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional training such as that acquired in the first two years of college or technical school.
• Training in skilled trades area or equivalent technical training.

Requires knowledge of production practices and techniques, plus a knowledge of mechanical principles and their practical application to production equipment
