Physician Assistant - Womens Health

WORK SCHEDULE:  Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 8:30am - 4:30 pm and Wed: 11am - 7pm, Sat is voluntary.

Position Overview:

Provide pediatric and women’s health patient care in an outpatient setting to a panel of women and, be responsible for the evaluation and management of care according to the accepted practice protocols of Ryan Health. Essential Functions:

• Provide pediatric and women’s health services for Ryan patients including examinations, diagnoses and treatment.
• Initiate, educate, and provide pediatric and women’s health care to patients.
• Order appropriate laboratory tests; review laboratory tests on a timely basis, and follow-up according to appropriate pediatric and women’s health protocols. At visits, be aware of any variations or deviations from the norm, and consult/collaborate with the physician, as needed. Refer all high-risk patients for physician evaluation.
• Participate in on-call rotation from answering service and document calls appropriately.
• Participate in peer review activities and other Quality Improvement
• Attend Department/Center meetings as required.
• Maintain professional competence by attending professional conferences, in-services, seminars, and other educational sessions, as requested.
• Immediately report any problems and/or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
• Must demonstrate a professional, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, immediate supervisor and other employees.
• Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA Blood borne pathogens standards and Center policies and procedures.
• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Skills Required:

• 1-2 years of experience in Ambulatory Care Setting and/or Community Health Care.

Education, Licenses, and/or Certifications Required:

• Must be a graduate of accredited program for Physician Assistant Studies
• Current New York State License to practice
• Master’s Degree Physician Assistant Studies
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (PA-C) is required;
• DEA certificate;
• Infection and CPR/Basic Life Support certifications

Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
