Position Summary:
The Center for Workforce Development (CWD) at William James College seeks applications for the position of Program Manager for community-based initiatives. In this role, the Program Manager will oversee the CWD’s community-based initiatives, strengthen partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and work collaboratively with the administrative team to set and execute goals for the CWD’s growth in community-based settings. The Program Manager will report to the CWD’s Associate Director of Clinical and Community Services.
Essential Functions
- Provide administrative oversight to the CWD’s community-based initiatives.
- Oversee the active recruitment, interview, selection, and enrollment of program participants.
- Manage efforts to address program participants’ social determinants of health needs (e.g., ESOL, digital and financial literacy, childcare, and transportation support services).
- Foster positive and productive relationships with program participants, staff, faculty, internal departments, and external partner agencies.
- Design and disseminate newsletters, event flyers, and program announcements.
- Create social media platforms to raise awareness of the CWD’s community-based programs.
- Collect data and maintain databases for community-based programs.
- Collaborate with the CWD team to develop and implement project plans and timelines.
- Ensure that community-based project deliverables are high-quality and completed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the CWD management team to ensure successful communication and coordination between program staff, faculty, students, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with funding agency guidelines and timelines, as appropriate.
- Develop professional development workshops, conferences, webinars, and Continuing Education events for students, practitioners, and partner agencies.
- Oversee outreach efforts to build partnerships with city, state, and community-based organizations to expand and diversify the CWD’s workforce development programs.
- Provide technical assistance and ongoing support to the College’s workforce development programs.
- Perform other related tasks, as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in counseling, human services, psychology, or a related field.
- Commitment to promoting the well-being of immigrants and other underserved populations.
- Past or present engagement in community-based services with culturally diverse groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and ability to relate well to individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently, problem solve and provide excellent customer service.
- Experience with building and maintaining partnerships with community-based organizations
- Ability to adapt to the culture of a mission-drive, fast-paced educational environment.
- Strong organizational, project coordination, and written and oral communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining program participants’ privacy and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of MS Word and other web-based tools as well as social media platforms.
- Candidates must speak Haitian Creole to effectively communicate with program participants.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.
