Successful International Omaha based business is seeking to fill a Supply Chain Specialist position at our Omaha, NE office. For over 30 years, our company has been involved in International trade supplying a variety of products to distributors and manufacturers across the US. This position will interface with nearly every aspect of our supply chain.
This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills as there is significant interaction between our sales manager and various overseas suppliers. Candidate must have a strong work ethic, solid Excel skills, be detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create purchase orders/sales orders from customer purchase order
- Maintain a schedule of sales orders and prioritize to our customer’s needs
- Negotiate with inland and ocean freight forwarders to obtain best pricing and schedule
- Quarterly inventory reconciliation
- Prepare, fulfill and send customer invoicing
- Maintain a schedule of orders and prioritize to our customer’s needs
- Ensure warehouse and freight forwarders are adhering to our customer’s varied requirements
- Communicate shipping schedules to customers
- Negotiate with freight forwarders to obtain best pricing and schedule
- Customs documents
- Assist with special projects as requested
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Prior office experience desired
- Experience in purchasing preferred
- 2 or 4 year college degree is preferred
- Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Strong communication skills; by email and phone
- Proven clear decision maker, well organized and solution oriented
- Ability to solve problems as they arise
- Meticulous attention to detail a must
- Self-starter, efficient, productive and works well with a team
- Numbers oriented individual is a must
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel and Word
- Fishbowl Inventory Management System experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
