religions; and how Judaism and Jewish culture have been represented in various discourses, images, cinema, and disciplines.
Position Summary
The Judaic Studies Program at William & Mary is recruiting a pool of persons for possible Visiting Scholar positions. This pool will be accessed ONLY when an opening arises. Your credentials will remain active as long as the pool position is available but no more than one year. After one year, if you are still interested, you must reapply to the current adjunct pool.
Visiting scholars should be experts in their field and present topics of interest in Judaic Studies. Proposals should include a series of public lectures (minimum 2) and give examples of classes in which they could guest, and/or research they would conduct during their stay. Visiting scholars may be eligible to serve as adjunct faculty in Judaic Studies during their appointment. Interested candidates must be vetted for adjunct teaching separately by applying to the adjunct lecturer of Judaic Studies adjunct pool.
Required Qualifications
ABD in Religion, Judaic Studies, hold a rabbinical degree, M. Div Degree, J.D., or equivalent degree at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Religion, Judaic Studies, or related field is preferred. Academic teaching and research experience is desirable. Experience in similar roles and capacities is preferred. Post-doctoral candidates and all levels of professorship candidates are also welcome to apply.
