The Systems Analyst oversees day-to-day operations for the Jenzabar administrative computing system, PowerFAIDS financial aid system, and other SQL Server applications used by various campus departments. Working with the UIT team and operational departments to provide information, forms and reporting tools used for processing data, reporting and internal decision making. Remote options are available for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains reports and forms to support internal users, allowing employees to interact and retrieve data from the student information system databases (currently using Jenzabar).
- Writes queries to retrieve, validate, and update records of data across the entire student information system.
- Implement and maintain system processes to meet business needs.
- Assists with the maintenance of interfaces using existing databases and software packages.
- Actively participate in team discussions to work together to find solutions and achieve shared goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to leverage the use of the student information system to serve students and the institution’s operational needs.
- Provides reports or summaries of findings or progress on business impact projects.
- Develop project plans and gather requirement specifications from vendors and end-users.
- Write technical and process documentation.
- Ensures data security, integrity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Position Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related degree, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL.
- Knowledge of Jenzabar and related applications.
- Ability to analyze information needs and develop applications to access this information.
- Skill in troubleshooting data to resolve inaccuracies in efforts to produce valid and reliable data.
- Ability to handle confidential material judiciously.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with computer and information users.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other professionals, staff, and customers.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and meet objectives with minimal supervision.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Two years of experience with Jenzabar.
- One year of experience with InfoMaker and/or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services report writing.
- Two years of experience in Higher Education.
- Working knowledge of databases.
- Prior experience working with student information systems.
Equipment/Software
- Ability to operate a computer using Windows environment.
- Ability to operate a computer within the William Woods University network environment.
- Ability to utilize email.
- Ability to operate Microsoft Office 365 components (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point)
- Skills writing queries using software tools

Working Environment
