The Parks Maintenance Worker performs various tasks for the maintenance and upkeep of Williams County Parks.
This is a seasonal position, averaging 35 hours per week. Work is typically available from April until mid-October, depending on weather conditions. Work is primarily performed on weekdays, but some weekend and evening shifts may be available.

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and may change with or without notice. Incumbents must be able to perform the essential function of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Performs routine landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including mowing lawns, weed eating, and trimming trees
- Operates equipment used in the maintenance of County Parks, including trucks, mowers, weed trimmers, hand tools, and power tools
- Performs general cleaning and maintenance of County Parks, including cleaning and stocking restrooms, cleaning public areas, picking up litter, and emptying garbage receptacles
- Inspects and repairs picnic tables, benches, and other park amenities
- Operates chainsaw to trim trees and harvest firewood
- Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code.
Typical Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; OR 1 year of relevant work experience (such as farm-related)
- Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver’s License or equivalent
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Supplemental Information
Special Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an outdoor environment with exposure to extreme temperatures
- Travel to various park locations throughout Williams County is required.
Compensation: Pay rate starts at $23.00/hour and is based on qualifications and experience.
