Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, with experience in both low voltage and industrial environments. This role requires proficiency in blueprint reading and a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). As a Commercial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial settings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.
  • Utilize tools such as voltmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
  • Work with low voltage systems, including security alarms and telecommunications wiring.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, including maintenance person services and frame carpentry teams, to complete projects efficiently.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC standards and local building codes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Electrician or similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage applications.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with NEC regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses as required by local regulations are preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour
