What You’ll Do
- Daily Planning & Crew Supervision – Coordinate with the Superintendent or Project Manager for the daily schedule, assess job priorities, assign tasks, and ensure the crew has necessary tools and equipment for safe and efficient operations.
- Project Oversight & Compliance – Supervise work quality, enforce policies, and document daily safety meetings.
- Equipment & Material Management – Maintain inventory, ensure equipment safety, report issues, and oversee servicing.
- Leadership & Employee Development – Lead and supervise small crews, provide clear direction, train employees, and carry out supervisory duties per company policies.
- Operational Support & Attendance – Perform labor tasks as needed, ensure punctuality and regular attendance, and directly supervise up to six employees to maintain productivity and efficiency.
- Experience & Technical Skills – 5 years in heavy civil construction, operating excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and backhoes. Preferred experience with GPS, levels, and lasers.
- Supervision & Leadership – Preferred field supervision experience with the ability to lead crews and ensure safety and quality.
- Software & Documentation – Experience with HCSS (Heavy Job) and Microsoft Office is a plus. Must accurately track crew hours and job details.
- Knowledge & Problem-Solving – Strong understanding of grading, pipe operations, field safety, and reading plans to determine materials and equipment needs.
- Communication & Flexibility – Clear verbal communication with teams and adaptability to changing job sites and conditions.
