Description
Williams & Rowe is looking for a professional accountant with construction experience and preferably knowledge of SAGE 300 Construction and Real Estate accounting software. The Controller will report to the CFO / COO and will be responsible for accurately entering and maintaining records of daily operational transactions and reviewing and preparing for the monthly close. The Controller will oversee all accounting functions, including managing the accounting team.
- Responsible for performing all aspects of General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and financial area including : GL, A / R and A / P. Ensuring all financial reporting "is prepared in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Ensure that financial information, analysis and reporting is accurate, timely, reliable and relevant, in order to assist the CEO, President and Executive Team in effectively performing their responsibilities
- Manage financial and business performance by maintaining appropriate metrics on which to measure the Company's business, monitoring variances to forecasts
- Budgeting and job cost accounting for all construction projects. This will involve working with the company's Project Managers and accounting associates to ensure that the company's job cost and work in process accounting information is accurate and up to date
- Work with operating team to identify and address trends, implement corrective actions and performance improvement actions
- Provide consistent and accurate financial forecasting for company
- Improve overall financial reporting to make it more efficient and impactful by improving the business intelligence platform
- Hands-on participation in daily finance and accounting activities, including reconciliations and review of work completed by others
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities
- Manage tax statement preparation for vendors (1099's)
- Sales & Use tax returns
- Assist in facilitating annual financial statement review and tax returns
- Liability insurance and workers comp reporting
- Track and monitor labor productivity
- Manage and review all corporate cards and store purchase programs (Home Depot / Lowes)
