Riverside Medical Group is currently seeing a full-time optometrist to join our Ophthalmology Practice in Williamsburg Virginia.

Optometrists C=conduct eye exams using optometric equipment and general diagnostic interpretation.
Diagnose and treat ocular disease.
Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.
Answer questions and provide advice to patients regarding vision and optical issues.
Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions.
Direct staff and assist in the development of the overall practice.
What you will do
- Treats optometry patients by explaining condition and treatment to patient; prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses; providing vision therapy and low vision rehabilitation; prescribing and administering medications; performing cataract surgery; providing pre- and post-operative care for cataracts, performing laser vision correction, and other eye surgeries.
- Assesses patient visual condition by examining the internal and external structure of the eyes and eye health; testing patient visual acuity, depth and color perception, and ability to focus and coordinate the eyes; administering drugs to aid in diagnosing diseases and disorders.
- Documents patient care services by completing charting in patient and department records.
- Demonstrates and maintains a professional relationship with medical staff. Builds trusting collaborative relationships through timely follow up regarding requests and concerns. Collaborates with physicians and physician office staff to provide for the specialized needs of the patients.
Qualifications
Education
- Doctoral Degree MD/DO, Optometry (Required)
Experience
- Less than 1 year Relevant experience as Optometrist (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Optometrist - VDHP Board of Optometry (Required)
