What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMS Outreach Assistant-Part Time position at Williamson County?
Reporting directly to the Outreach Coordinator, responsible for educational delivery and administrative duties that enhance the mission of the Williamson County EMS Outreach Programs.
- Assists with the coordination of all Williamson County EMS community programs offered to the public
- Delivers educational and informational programs to the public through in-person and virtual Creates and prepares certificates of completion for program participants
- Processes and reviews course paperwork for Outreach Education Programs
- Maintains calendars related to course schedules, and coordinates instructor and facility accommodations
- Serves as department liaison for the American Heart Association (AHA) and oversees a variety of duties supporting the daily operations of the department’s AHA CPR program
- Coordinates and instructs the training of Training Center Faculty and instructors, both for certification initials and renewals
- Participates in direct instruction of AHA CPR programs in lead or support roles; monitors new or renewing instructors for quality improvement
- Maintains and updates all training files for various AHA instructors
- Assists the Outreach Coordinator on recruitment of students and instructors, budgetary needs, course materials, and community engagement efforts
- Participates in Car Seat Fitting events, both dedicated events and multi-subject public educational offerings
- Tracks and maintains inventory of training equipment
- Provides direct customer service either in person or on the telephone
- Creates and maintains various reports related to assigned division
- Creates and maintains forms, worksheets, and informational materials
- Attends all trainings and meetings as required
- Performs special duties as assigned

- Regular travel between work sites as required
IRREGULAR HOURS
- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required

- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience teaching American Heart Association CPR (or equivalent program)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certification
Required within ninety (90) days of employment
- Valid driver’s license
- TAKE10 Trainer Qualification
- Stop the Bleed Trainer Qualification
Required within six (6) months of employment
- Certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician through Safe Kids Worldwide
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Texas EMT-Basic Certification or higher
- One (1) year of teaching experience in community, technical or school settings
- Bilingual (Spanish)
