What are the responsibilities and job description for the Obstetric Nurse Specialist position at Williamson Health?
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Williamson Health. Our perinatal unit provides high-quality obstetric, neonatal, and gynecologic care to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, utilizing observation, communication, and examination skills to ensure the highest level of care.
- Develop individualized patient care plans, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions, and attainable outcomes.
- Handle medications safely, administer solutions, and prepare/administer medications/solutions as needed in a timely manner.
- Document patient information accurately and timely to maintain a secure and confidential medical record.
- Maintain a healing and therapeutic environment for patients and families by promoting positive interactions and respectful communication.
Requirements:
- Licensed by the State of Tennessee with current BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Nursing diploma or degree from a college or university with experience in perinatal care.
- At least one year of experience in a perinatal setting preferred, with opportunities for advancement and professional growth.
- Certified Lactation Consultant certification is highly valued.
