Willis Mechanical is seeking a skilled Commercial and Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Technician who has knowledge and experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. This individual will have the opportunity to work on a variety of systems while being a part of a team whose members value professional growth and are passionate about their work.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Observe and test industrial refrigeration system operation
  • Perform preventative maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Troubleshoot issues with refrigeration systems
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the team
  • Document all repair details in accordance with company procedures
  • Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory to ensure needed equipment is available
  • Maintain safe working environments by complying with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety


Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in refrigeration service with ammonia
  • Graduation from a technical school or program in the area of study / CARO and CIRO Certifications
  • Able to inspect equipment, identify potential problems, and take appropriate corrective action
  • Able to troubleshoot and perform repairs independently
  • Pass a physical examination and respirator fit testing
  • Availability to be on call on nights and weekends, as needed
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Has basic technical skills and can use computers and electronic systems
  • Organized, self-motivated, and a strong work ethic
  • Current driver's license and impeccable driving record

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, working 8 hours/day, Monday through Friday.  A typical day is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. There are overtime and on-call opportunities available. Day travel to our customers and job sites is expected.
