Willis Smith Construction is seeking a Project Accountant/Procore Administrator to join our Sarasota-based accounting team. This is an in-office, non-remote position.
The Project Accountant/Procore Administrator's primary responsibility is to support the project team regarding contract modifications, compliance, payments, reports and any other duties related to the project.
Essential Functions:
- Manage all accounting-related functions for assigned projects.
- Assist project teams with any questions or needs relating to the accounting department.
- Manage invoices, payments, and compliance for assigned projects.
- Have an understanding of compliance requirements for assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and within assigned timeline.
- Process sub-contractor payments accurately and within assigned timeline.
- Collect and track compliance documents.
- Generate reports including A/R, Contract Status and Job Cost.
- Input owner billings in Timberline and/or Procore.
- Job cost report modification.
- Monthly financial analysis and on-going revenue review.
- Work with Project Managers for monthly deadline-driven project billing.
- Ensure all billing transactions are completed and accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Prepare invoices and complete monthly billings.
- Contract management and review.
- Coordinate and pursue receivables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree.
- 3-5 years of construction-specific accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of construction-specific accounting fundamentals.
- High degree of professionalism and strong people skills required, with the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with customers, employees, and the managers of other departments.
- Key competencies are communication, teamwork, initiative and dependability.
- Good command of the English language, oral and written.
- Ability to multi-task and succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience using computerized accounting systems, Procore and/or Timberline Titanium a significant plus.
- Willing and able to become a Licensed Florida Notary Public within sixty (60) days of start, education and registration paid by company.
- Must have own, reliable transportation.
