What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at Williston?
The Williston Northampton School, located in Easthampton MA, has openings for seasonal Camp Counselors with varying levels of experience. Working within our Summer Programs Department, Counselors will be positive role models and develop supportive relationships with the campers as well as motivate and encourage campers to set and achieve goals, gain new skills, and make positive choices. Counselors will work as part of a team to deliver programming that centers around social and emotional learning through traditional camp activities including sports, games, and a variety of learning opportunities.
Counselors will organize team games such as soccer, softball, lacrosse, tennis, and basketball, explaining the rules and acting as referee or umpire throughout the game; Lead activities such as crafts and art, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with ideas; Communicate with parents, providing updates where required and answering questions about the camp; Check on children with medical needs to ensure they have taken any required medication
The expected time frame for these positions will be June 23, 2025, to August 22, 2025, Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Counselor schedules will vary and may range from 15-20 hours per week up to approximately 40 hours per week.
