Willow Hill Supply, LLC, is seeking a full-time production manufacturer team lead for its Lexington, Kentucky location.
Established in 2011, Willow Hill Supply is a small manufacturer of embroidered patches, printed goods and a reseller of quality tactical gear. We do business under the brands Tactical Gear Junkie and Kentucky Emblem. We pride ourselves in having the highest quality products and being customer forward in all aspects of our business.
We offer a substantial selection of embroidered patches and specialize in custom embroidery, made in the USA. We proudly serve industries including military, police, and fire, to name a few.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for guiding, managing, and leading our embroidery production department in scheduling, machine operation, and quality control.
Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am through 5:00 pm. Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, life, accident and disability insurance, 401k, paid vacation and paid holidays. This is a salaried, exempt position.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Load embroidery files from the computer to embroidery machine(s).
- Job and machine scheduling
- Update and track jobs in production software.
- Make sure each job running has the correct paperwork and all paperwork is filled out correctly.
- Ensure staff keep assigned machines up and running as efficiently as possible with little downtime.
- Track and monitor KPIs on a daily and weekly basis and maintain KPI goals.
- Monitor work product for any defects and alert for all quality issues that arise.
- Work closely with the art department to ensure samples and embroidery are running correctly.
- Log all maintenance or mechanical issues into the maintenance software.
- Ensure staff complete general daily and weekly maintenance of assigned machines and log accordingly.
- Be able to troubleshoot any minor mechanical issues and escalate when needed.
- Ensure all staff are ready and present for work or are accounted for.
- Review and edit team member time sheets and time off requests.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews of their team members and assign goals.
- Gather and report KPIs and set goals for team members and themselves.
- Hold daily, weekly, and monthly department meetings.
- Ensure all team members are adequately trained, cross-trained and are kept up to date on new policies and procedures.
- Provide adequate job coverage and delegate work as needed.
- Document and maintain department procedures and manuals and update as needed.
- Maintain adequate supplies and materials for their department and submit POs when needed.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in a supervisory role.
- At least 2 years of machine operation, maintenance or similar experience.
- Knowledge of computers and production software.
- Ability to meet all required deadlines or alert when unable to complete on time.
- Ability to change priorities quickly as needed.
- Work independently and as part of a team and maintain a mature problem-solving demeanor.
- Work unsupervised and without help at times but still know when to ask for help.
- Excellent attention to detail and unwavering quality standards.
- Be able to take on new challenges, find opportunities to become more efficient, and be open to change.
Competencies
- Able to read and comprehend basic instructions and paperwork. Proficient knowledge of basic English, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to write legibly to complete paperwork.
- Solid understanding of basic math including accuracy with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to read a measuring tape and understand units of measure.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot the following equipment with proficiency: Computer and software, embroidery machines, and calculating devices.
- Basic mechanical knowledge including use of a screwdriver, wrenches and other tools and devices to perform general technical and mechanical maintenance.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close, mid-range, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to circulate a room and stand for up to eight (8) hours at a time. Employee will need to climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Salary : $45,000 - $58,000
