Description
Wills Eye Hospital, a non-profit specialty hospital, world-renowned for its clinical expertise, residency and fellowship program excellence, and innovative research initiatives is seeking a full-time faculty position available immediately in the Department of Resident Education. Applicants must be board eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
The successful candidate will lead the Ophthalmology Residency Training Program, overseeing its direction and operations. Required qualifications include expertise in the specialty and at least five years of experience in educational or administrative roles. The Program Director will manage all aspects of the program, including administration, teaching, scholarly activities, resident recruitment and selection, and the evaluation and promotion of residents. The role also involves guiding residents in their education within the context of patient care. As a key role model, the Program Director will exemplify professionalism, clinical excellence, and a strong commitment to resident education. The program will be aligned with the needs of the community and the mission of Wills Eye.
Primary Function :
- Provides clinical and administrative leadership to the Wills Eye Hospital Ophthalmology Residency at the "Residency Program in compliance with ACGME accreditation. Supervises Residents and sees patients accordingly. Manages interdepartmental and interdisciplinary relationships to assure collaboration and effective / efficient operations within Residency Program.
- Actively practices independent clinical medicine in specialty of Ophthalmology and in any applicable subspecialty of Ophthalmology.
