Overview

Assist in day-to-day execution of the event strategy across several geographic markets but concentrated in NY, LI, CT, and NJ in support of the Wilmington Trust Event Head’s efforts to leverage strategic client engagement to advance the sales and branding agenda of the firm.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Gathering and maintaining metrics around program effectiveness, for Head of Wilmington Events. Become marketing “go to” person for defined geographic markets for tactical execution resources and planning services. Develop relationships with regional wealth management leaders, as well as sales and support teams in the field crucial to the events success.
  • Event Management: manage regional event planning activities as defined by the Market Leader and Event Manager, including being on-site to oversee the event, as well as the organization of invitations, schedules, collateral, promotional items, and follow up activities. Provide direction to administrative teams in the region to help with event execution.
  • Research and explore new event venues, restaurants, private clubs, etc. and bring forward ideas for high-touch client experiences.
  • Menu tastings, site tours and venue walk-throughs.
  • Webinar Management: assist in coordinating webinar events including audience promotion, webinar platform logistics and event speaker coordination.
  • Research outside speakers for high level client events and ensure their reputation and messaging align with the bank’s core business and investing principles.
  • Material Development: develop regional collateral materials, event invitations, social media posts, event briefs, timelines. Bio’s, and production schedules as well as other ad-hoc communications for sales teams and field as directed by the Event Manager. Partner with creative design services, brand, procurement, PR, Exec offices.
  • Sponsorships & external partnerships: support local leadership, Sponsorship Team liaising, and Event Team Sponsorship lead on sponsorship activations and charitable partnerships that include events. Manage promotional opportunities and deadlines.
  • Support Client and Market Research: conduct research as directed, including competitive, client profiles, internal and external speaker bios and roster, exec bios and headshots, to compile and maintain a materials library which the marketing team can use to assess and improve.
  • Work with Events Director and the Event Team as needed on special projects.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience,

OR in lieu of a degree,

A combined minimum of 6 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.

Must be a team player and willing to collaborate and take direction.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Some travel required (30-40% - mostly regional between CT, NY, NJ and DE. Occasionally other markets)

Education And Experience Preferred

Creative Thinker: must have experience developing compelling client-facing marketing content that supports corporate messaging and helps drive sales.

Independent, self-motivated, and detail orientated.

High energy and able to interact with internal stakeholders on all levels.

2-5 years in a marketing communications role or hospitality (upscale hotels, restaurants), preferred.

Experience with CRM systems, e-mail marketing, and Webinar platforms a plus

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $62,835.42 - $104,725.70 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
