Paralegals in our Employment practice provide litigation support to our attorneys and partners who focus on Wage & Hour/PAGA Class Action (PAGA) and Single Action (FEHA). These roles manage a high volume of cases and requires the ability to be resourceful and multi-task with a high attention to detail. Experience at an employment law firm highly desirable. This position can be based in Oakland, Downtown Los Angeles, or Irvine.

The Opportunity

• Prepare correspondence, letters, pleadings and all forms of discovery.
• Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and clarity.  
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.  
• Maintain case files on the Firm’s document and case management system.
• Assist in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials.  
• Case/calendar/project management and client communication.  
• Provide administrative support to the legal team. 
  
  

Requirements:

• 3 years of Paralegal experience in a law firm employment practice focused on PAGA or FEHA
• Well versed in e-filing in State, Federal courts. Appellate court and administrative agency experience is a plus.
• Experience propounding/responding to discovery, calendaring hearings and court deadlines, and assisting with mediation/arbitration/trial preparation.
• Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels across the Firm.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills. 
• Proficient in conducting legal research using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw or similar platforms.  
• Experience using Litify or similar case/document management systems.
• Spanish fluency and proficiency with Microsoft 365 strongly preferred.

• This hourly position ranges from $35/hourly to $50/hour (annualized at $72,800 -$104k annually) based on experience.
