About the Position
This Account Development Specialist position will be responsible for promoting luxury wine brands and increasing brand awareness in the New Haven County area. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key accounts and decision makers.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful selling, with a passion for learning about the wine industry. They will be responsible for developing new business relationships with decision makers and identifying potential customers, as well as ensuring the execution of sales strategies, objectives, and revenue generation through partnering with key retailers and establishments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote luxury wine brands and increase brand awareness in the market
- Develop new business relationships with decision makers and identify potential customers
- Ensure execution of sales strategies, objectives, and revenue generation through partnering with key retailers and establishments
- Have extensive knowledge of company products and features/benefits compared to competition
- Prepare professional sales presentations tailored to current supplier programs and customer needs
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Drive, motivation, and attention to detail to ensure all sales opportunities are captured and explored
- Wine knowledge preferred but not required
- Passion for learning about the wine industry or selling/educating
- Established working relationships with key accounts in given territory
- Ability to make smart business decisions based on growing sales, profitability, and market shares
- Proven track record of successful selling
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and objection handling skills
- Persuasive public speaking and presentation skills and ability to close deals
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience in selling domestic and international fine and luxury wine preferred
- Brand building and outside sales experience is preferred
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT) and experience using Pocket Advantage is preferred
