Description
Wilson Engineers is an Arizona-based firm with a staff of more than 180 personnel specializing in water and wastewater engineering and construction management. We are seeking an experienced Structural Inspector to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week working in the field in locations throughout the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Proactive and self-motivated individual, able to meet challenging time constraints and work independently and as part of a team- Review project plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project
- Provide onsite construction inspection for projects located throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area
- Coordinate in the field with the project Owners, Contractors and 3rd-party material testing agencies
- Communicate effectively with Structural Engineering staff who supervise work in progress
- Prepare Daily reports to document construction progress, changes and as-built conditions
Requirements
Minimum five (5) years of experience working in the Construction Industry as a Structural Inspector, Field Engineer, or similar- Knowledge of construction means & methods and quality control measures, along with knowledge and experience in water/wastewater construction is a plus
- Experience with construction Submittals, Shop Drawings, and RFI coordination
- Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software capabilities
- Minimum one ICC Certification (Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Structural Steel and Bolting, and Structural Welding) and willingness to obtain others within one year
- OSHA 30-hour training
- Requires a valid Arizona driver’s license and good driving record
- Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar is a plus, but not required
