Position Overview: The Plumbing Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project specifications and drawings, ensuring that all required information is available, and preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates primarily for residential plumbing projects although we do some commercial projects as well. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid background in residential plumbing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand the scope of work.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with builders, engineers, and team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates.
- Maintain and update a database of unit costs, historical data, and production rates.
- Prepare and present bid proposals to clients and follow up as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential plumbing estimating.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
