Position Overview
The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for management activities and the developmental plans for the service department. The position is also responsible for following and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure the company fulfills its contractual obligations for service in accordance with quality, customer satisfaction, profit objectives, and directives. The Service Manager is responsible for coordinating with the Senior Leadership team, technician, dispatcher, and the customer.
Key Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise and lead the Service crew
- Directly responsible for interviewing, training, managing, and evaluating technicians
- Conduct job site visits with technicians and provide feedback
- Communicate and monitor goals
- Ensure technicians are being dispatched effectively
- Assist technicians with issues while in the field
- Facilitate weekly meetings
- Provide statistical and performance feedback and coaching on a regular basis to each team member; verbally and in writing.
- Write and administer performance reviews for skill improvement
- Resolve customer issues or concerns to ensure complete satisfaction
- Ensure all team members comply with OSHA safety standards
- Verify materials cost and stay current with price changes from suppliers to ensure that jobs are correctly costed, and margins and price integrity is maintained.
- Manage and stay within department budget
- Achieve budgeted gross margin
- Meet or exceed all company goals
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Trade Manager
- Visit customer homes to ensure proper measurements for sold projects.
- Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.
- Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required
- Associate degree preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years management experience
- Self-starter, reliable, flexibility with hours
- Strong customer service skills
- Tech savvy and proficient in using Share Site, Service Titan, Google Suite
- Must pass random drug testing
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- General knowledge of basic home service needs
- General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills for HVAC installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of systems and equipment
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Office environment; sitting and standing throughout the shift
