What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemistry Teacher 2025 - 2026 position at Winchester Public Schools?
Summary:
Primary responsibility is teaching Chemistry at the high school level. The preferred candidate will have earned a master’s degree in Chemistry or a master’s degree in any field with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry. Dual Language skills is a plus as well.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with a Chemistry endorsement. License eligibility may be met through any of the following routes:
- Completed an approved teacher preparation program in chemistry;
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from an accredited institute;
- Completed 32 semester hours in specific chemistry coursework; or
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute with at least 5 years of documented full-time experience in chemistry and pass the content assessment prescribed by the VDOE
Salary:
Range based on the 2024-2025 Teacher Salary Scale is $53,000 - $79,287 with additional supplemental pay for a graduate degree. Salary may be adjusted based on the 2025-2026 budget.
