What are the responsibilities and job description for the Winchester Summer Program Nurse 2025 position at Winchester School District?
The Winchester Public Schools is seeking a licensed school nurse as the Summer Program Nurse from July 7-August 7, 2025, 8:15 am - 12:00 pm Monday - Thursday's. The Summer Program Nurse will manage and coordinate the assigned school’s/locations health services based on requirements established by school district policies, procedures, and protocols, and by local, state, and national regulations and statutes.
The Summer Program Nurse will:
- Prepare and maintain student clinic records and prepare required reports as needed.
- Assess and deliver care to students with acute and chronic illnesses (including diabetes, seizure disorders, ADHD, Asthma, Life-Threatening Allergies, Hearing and Visual Deficits) as well as, acute injuries.
- Collect from parents medications/EPI Pens ect, manage medication and administer medication appropriately, in keeping with school policy on the administration of medications in the school/as required by student health records.
- Implement Individual Health Care Plans for students with various medical needs. Follow DPH School Health mandates and guidelines.
- Respond to emergency situations/provides first aid to injured children and staff as required.
- Complete DPH required reporting forms as needed.
The ideal candidate will hold a Masters plus 3 years of nursing and/ or school nurse experience.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid Certification to practice as a registered nurse as required by state and valid certification as school nurse required by Department of Education.
- Must have a BSN
- Maintain certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid
