POSITION : Administrative Assistant
HOURLY: $20.00 SALARY: $41,600.00

SUPERVISION: Wind River Inter Tribal Council– Executive Secretary.
GENERAL STATEMENT:
Perform routine clerical and Administrative duties in support of the WRITC Secretary’s office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transcribes and prepares, for certification, the official minutes of the Wind River
Inter-Tribal Council, and other meetings as the WRITC Executive Secretary or
WR Inter-Tribal Council may designate their scheduled assignments.
- Assist the WRITC Executive Secretary in recording and transcribing dictation
from the WRITC Chairmen, of confidential and restricted materials and relies
upon her/his best judgement and initiative to assure the correspondence flows as
scheduled.
- Will utilize all available free time during the work day to transcribe, in final form,
existing WRITC and other meetings which are not complete.
- Assist in maintaining the filing system of the WRITC Secretary’s Office and
WRITC minutes.
- Uses mature judgement, self-initiate and courtesy to provide clerical services to
the staff, WRITC and general public.
- Prepares check requests for accounting payable for the Secretary’s Office.
- performs other duties as assigned by the WRITC Executive Secretary or the WR
Inter-Tribal Council.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have at least a high School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certificate of completion from an Office Occupations course work or 12 years successful
work experience in a clerical position.
- Must type at least 40 wpm.
- Must have the ability to meet and greet the public in a professional manner.
- Ability to write effectively enough to assist staff in completion of minutes, resolution,
etc.
- Must be able to transcribe from computer.
- Must demonstrate sound clerical skills including: communication( written & oral),
computer operation skills in spreadsheets, word processing and database programs.
- Proper telephone etiquette, use of copy machine, scanners, digital recording, fax and ten-
key.
- Must have a valid Wyoming Driver’s License.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
MUST Maintain strict confidentiality of ALL information processed through
the WRITC Secretary’s Office INCLUDING records, reports, documents,
conversation etc. A breach of confidentiality will be subject to appropriate disciplinary
action up to and including dismissal from employment.
- Pre-employment applications being considered for employment or a political
appointment must submit to alcohol and drugs screening prior to being hired or
appointed. Refusal to take the test will render the applicant ineligible for employment
with the Wind River Inter-Tribal Council shared programs. Applicants who test positive
for alcohol or banned drugs will not be hired and will be ineligible for any type of
employment with the Government for 60 days.
- Applicants must be drug-free and will be subject to random drug testing.
