Grade Foreman must have experience successfully completing large sitework ,earthwork and grading heavy civil projects, NCDOT, local specifications, blueprints, and survey staking. Manage a 2 to 4 employee crew while maintaining daily safety and production goals.
Job Duties/Grade Foreman:
- Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2 – 4-person crew.
- Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate grade, and prepare worksites
- Work closely with Contractors and Sub-Contractors
- Continually inspects work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
- Responsible for crew safety. Establishes safe work environment that complies with the company safety program.
- Analyzes job cost reports to ensure production is within budget.
- Reviews and approves employee time reporting.
- Must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
- Material delivery coordination and recording
- Other Duties as Assigned
Work Experience, Attributes and/or Education Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years Heavy Civil Foreman Experience Required
- Read & interpret technical drawings
- Shoot grades and understand layout designs and implementation of same
- Ability to use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels, and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation
- Ability to adapt and work effectively with diverse workforce
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of being certified to enter confined spaces, including climbing into and out of excavations up to 15 feet in depth, using ladders or crawling, as required.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
