NATURE OF WORK
As a member of the Recreation Division, this position is responsible for running rental operations at Windsor Lake and/or Eastman Riverwalk Experience or overseeing guest service operations at Chimney Park Pool while providing excellent customer service.
This position requires work throughout the week as well as evenings and weekends. This temporary employment may be scheduled through the year on a full-time basis depending on the needs of the Town, but will not exceed six months in length (or 1,040 hours, whichever comes first). Please note that Town employees (including seasonal employees) may only be employed in one classification at any one given time.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Cashiers – Pool, Boat Rentals / Lake Concessions / Riverwalk Concessions work under the direct supervision/leadership of the Lake / Riverwalk Manager or Head Lifeguard and/or Recreation Coordinator - Aquatics to carry out assigned duties, functions, roles, and projects in both routine and complex circumstances and reports directly to the Recreation Coordinator - Aquatics.
SUPERVISION/LEADERSHIP EXERCISED

Essential Job Functions
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Cashier – Pool, Boat Rentals / Lake Concessions / Riverwalk Concessions is assigned specific assignments, job duties, scope, authority, responsibility, roles and requirements as determined by the town, department, division, and pursuant to laws, regulation and practices. Incumbents in this position must be able to successfully perform, be responsible for, and/or assist in the fulfillment of many job functions and duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive:
- Responsible for ensuring all patrons pay an admittance fee to Chimney Park Pool.
- Responsible for operating cash drawer accurately and appropriately.
- Responsible for overseeing rentals at Windsor Lake and Eastman Riverwalk Experience.
- Collect ticket from each participant before allowing them on a rental boat.
- Ensure that each participant signs a waiver.
- Ensure that each participant wears a lifejacket while riding a Town of Windsor watercraft (boat or tube).
- Monitor and ensure that each participant rides for the allotted scheduled time.
- Help in keeping the rental dock clean and clear of clutter.
- Help in keeping the rental boats and rental tubes clean and maintained.
- Ensure all participants are following all safety protocols while utilizing Town of Windsor watercrafts.
- Ensures safety regulations and procedures are adhered to and enforces rules of the lake, riverwalk experience and Chimney Park Pool.
- Performs cash handling procedures and/or opening/closing cash handling procedures.
- Serve food and beverages following appropriate policies.
- Keep concession area, including equipment and counters clean throughout shift.
- Remove all trash from daily concession operation to dumpster regularly.
- Stock, display and inventory concession products.
- Responsible for completed cleaning duties as assigned.
- Assist with dispatching swimmers from top of slide as needed.
- Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions.
- Utilize designated scheduling application for access to work schedule and requesting time off.
- Performs related work as required and assigned.
- Maintain good public relations at all times by being helpful and pleasant.
- Responds to emergency situations as required; maintains and forwards accurate accident and incident reports to supervisor.
- Reports any issues and concerns to supervisor.
- Identifies and reports any hazards in a timely manner.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND FORMAL TRAINING
- Must be at least 14 years of age
- First Aid/CPR certification required within 15 days of hire.
- Knowledge of the policies, procedures and goals of the Town of Windsor and the department.
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply operating policies and procedures.
- Ability to react quickly and accurately in emergency situations.
- Ability to maintain composure during mentally, physically and emotionally stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate professionally, clearly and effectively with people inside and outside the organization using verbal and written methods.
- Ability to perform the necessary functions of the position and to make appropriate decisions consistent with the job expectations and position description.
