- Job requires performing computerized tomographic and radiographic procedures as requested by physicians
- Requires attention to detail and independent judgment
- Responsibilities include operating control consoles for patient scans, moving X-ray equipment, selecting imaging techniques and protocols
- Involves operating peripheral hardware and mobile radiography equipment
- Requires maintaining, setting up, and adjusting equipment, checking calibration and recalibrating as necessary
- Job involves positioning patients on examination table and adjusting immobilization devices as needed
- Requires explaining procedures to patients and answering their questions
- Involves assisting physician or nurse with patient monitoring and treatment during procedures
- Requires recording all necessary information to provide permanent records of significant anatomical or pathologic data
- Requires applying principles of radiographic protection to minimize radiation to patients and staff
- Requires maintaining proficiency in PACS system and adequate radiology records
- Involves assisting physician with administration of radiographic contrast media
