Our school is dedicated to a student-centered approach through proficiency based learning and student voice, through their learning, leadership initiatives, and their academic and social-emotional choices. We value educating the whole child through a team approach. We are a truly collaborative team and enjoy working together to support student agency and self-directed learning. We are currently seeking a long-term substitute high school science teacher to teach at the Windsor School.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, open-minded teacher with a growth mindset to join our team of dedicated teachers. The ideal candidate will be a strong, collaborative team member who is committed to continuing working on their teaching practice through professional development both individually and as a team. They should be able to listen to both students and colleagues with the goal of understanding others ideas, with an emphasis on reflective teaching. Applicants must be well versed in and ready to implement the Common Core State Standards and best teaching practices.
Qualifications: Vermont Teacher Licensure; Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree in Education preferred; Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Proficient technology skills;Excellent collaboration and behavior management skills; Understanding of, experience in, and commitment to a Multi-Tiered System of Support; Ability to promote and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues and families; Confident in one's ability to manage student intervention plans; Ability to regularly analyze data and monitor student progress; and Collaboratively plan and coordinate instruction with Special Education staff.
