We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Inside Business Development Representative to support our Regional Sales Managers for Windstar Cruises. This role is focused on generating leads, nurturing client relationships, and driving sales growth by providing exceptional service and support to our advisors and trade partners. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills a passion for the travel industry, and a desire to succeed in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Support, strengthen, build, and maintain relationships with our travel agent partners and designated accounts.
- Account management, including ongoing communications via phone calls, video calls, and email with agencies to promote Windstar’s current offers to meet revenue goals.
- Pre and Post Trade Show planning and follow-up with advisors.
- Assist the Sales team with preparing contracts, proposals, and presentations.
- Engage and train new advisors on how to set up accounts and sell Windstar Cruises.
- Address Client inquiries and concerns promptly providing solutions that enhance advisor satisfaction.
- Work closely with other departments such as marketing, vacation planning, and reservation accounting to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the regional sales team to develop effective sales strategies in their regions.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing initiatives and strategies. Work with the Regional Sales Team to implement these tactics.
- Manage Book Windstar online training and support.
- Coordinate with the Trade Marketing Manager to execute promotional campaigns and lead generation activities through Salesforce.
- Source travel agencies with greater potential and flag these accounts for additional follow-up by the appropriate RSM.
- Monitor sales of territory and agencies to ensure production goals are being met.
- Assist in handling reservation problems and customer relations issues.
- Encouraging professional communication amongst team members.
- Document sales activities via ongoing daily reporting within the Salesforce CRM. Document travel agency and travel agent information within Salesforce, including but not limited to sales activities, marketing and promotional efforts, as well as agency and agent specific information which help us understand their business and take appropriate future sales activities.
- Send business leads to RSM’s or other Xanterra brands as appropriate.
- Attend weekly and other scheduled sales meeting as a contributing member of the team, sharing ideas and opportunities to grow business.
- Maintain current and future customer relationships.
- Travel as needed to sales and cruise events.
- Provide back-up support for the Sales Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2 years of demonstrated success selling within the travel industry is preferred.
- Sales and Marketing experience preferred.
- Strong Salesforce Knowledge required.
- Must have an understanding of the sales process, including commission structures, marketing plans, incentives, overrides and group sales.
- Knowledge of and ability to explain marketing concepts to travel industry clients.
- Understand yield management, selling vs. price.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.
- Strategically focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Motivated self-starter with integrity and strong work ethic.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet critical project deadlines.
- Valid Passport with ability to travel internationally with no restrictions.
- Must demonstrate a friendly, positive demeanor.
