Job Purpose
The Staff Accountant position will interact with corporate leadership and collaborate closely with on-site community managers to provide accounting support, assist in timely completion of monthly accounting processes, and ensure that all transactions related to your portfolio of properties are recorded accurately and reported on a timely basis. A Staff Accountant would provide accounting services for 3-5 properties. Additionally, this position will assist in identifying areas of improvement and implementing best practices to facilitate Green Courte Residential’s ongoing expansion. .

- Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of all required financial information for an assigned portfolio of communities.
- Collaborate with community managers and accounting team members to perform the day-to-day financial operations, which include:
- Maintain accurate tenant ledgers.
- Review accounts payable invoice activity and related general ledger account coding.
- Complete monthly financial closing processes, which include:
- Complete bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly closing journal entries.
- Proactively manage closing matters.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Partner with the Reporting team to provide meaningful variance comments.
- Assist Operations Team with annual budget process.
- Participate in the external audit process, including preparation of schedules.
- Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies.
- Administering accounting procedures and monitoring internal controls.
- Complete other ad hoc projects as assigned in a timely manner.
- Utilize accounting IT systems such as Yardi and Rent Manager.
- Complete special projects assigned in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
- Advanced degree and/or CPA is preferred, but not required.
- Real estate or manufactured housing background a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (must be able to manipulate pivot tables & utilize formulas such as xlookups, sumifs, if statements, etc.).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
- Good verbal and written communication skills that enable you to work in a collaborative manner with diverse teams in a variety of different departments.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Persistent sense of urgency and accuracy, with a keen appreciation for detail.
- Initiative-taker with a creative, enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative outlook.
- Aptitude for learning and utilizing various accounting systems.

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
