Experienced Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to manage accounting operations across multiple entities, including retail stores and real estate properties. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle diverse accounting needs simultaneously while adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain chart of accounts for different business types in accordance with GAAP standards
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable across multiple entities
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports for management review
• Manage bill payment systems and vendor relationships
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax requirements
• Apply proper revenue recognition and expense matching principles
• Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation schedules

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of bookkeeping experience with multiple entities
• Proven experience setting up chart of accounts from scratch, specifically for retail and real estate businesses
• Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and their application to different business entities
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with bill payment software and automated payment systems
• Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices for retail and real estate
• Associate's degree in Accounting or related field
• Bookkeeping certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper)
• Experience with other accounting software platforms
• Knowledge of accrual-based accounting methods

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
