JOB TITLE : General Manager
Wineshipping is a tech-enabled third-party logistics (3PL) provider for alcoholic beverage companies, managing the fastest, most accurate, and most cost-efficient delivery network in the US for wine, beer, spirits, and more. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is integral to facility success. This is a multi-faceted role requiring the ability to balance strategy and execution. The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the facility including improving efficiency and increasing profits while managing a diverse team. The General Manager will lead a dynamic team of Operations Managers to achieve operational excellence.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage real-time operations which facilitates the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals.
- Monitor efficiency and accuracy using standard operating plan metrics or add new ones to meet external and internal performance goals.
- Prepare an annual P&L budget, plan out expenses, analyze variances, and make necessary corrections to help company achieve financial objectives.
- Ability to develop both short-term and long-term plans and execute budget for labor and other resources based on projected volumes.
- Establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service to internal and external clients.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training and cross training for all phases of the operation.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures established for the function / warehouse.
- Work directly with warehouse management, communicating daily order shipment requests and all required follow up.
- Participates in quality improvement efforts.
- Be proactive with existing accounts : ensure client forecasting is provided, schedule recurring business reviews and provide analysis / metrics. Schedules regularly occurring meetings and calls with clients.
- Develops, maintains, and presents data for clients on shipment trends geographic trends during standing client calls and meetings and during business reviews.
- Performs required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence.
- Follow established escalation procedures where appropriate.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other Company associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that is conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and effectiveness.
- Performs all necessary supervisory functions to manage all personnel effectively and efficiently.
- Communicates areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned.
- Responsible for all warehouse equipment and order repairs and replacements when required.
- Responsible for the security of the building and company assets thru enforcement of security policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Performs other similar duties and projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
