About the Position:
The Executive Director (“Director”) provides leadership in accordance with the direction, policies, and objectives provided by the Board of Directors of the Winfield Area Habitat for Humanity. The Director will think and act strategically to turn the Board’s objectives into reality.
(This is a new position, and the ideal candidate will be creative, imaginative, and collaborative in molding the Executive Director’s role.)
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain office
- Nurture atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation among all constituents
- Enhance organizational diversity to reflect the community
- Communicate with affiliate’s accounting firm to track expenses and revenues
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Board Governance Manual and Articles of Incorporation
- Search and apply for grants
- Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan
- Build and maintain strong donor relationships
- Be the public spokesperson of the affiliate
- Serve as primary communication link among all parties, internal and external
- Oversee all marketing and branding strategies to raise organization’s profile
- Schedule and prepare Board meeting agendas in consultation with Board President
- Attend all Board meetings and:
- serve as ex officio member of Board and each Board committee
- provide Director’s report at each meeting
- Work with President and Treasurer to prepare budget documents
- Help develop and coordinate Board committee work
- Other duties as assigned by the Board
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will consider candidates with commensurate experience
- Prefer experience in non-profit management or other relevant managerial experience
- Outstanding communication abilities: verbal, written, and electronic
- Prefer candidates with experience in fundraising - including grant writing, donor solicitation, and event planning
- Self-starter with disciplined and ethical work habits
Position parameters:
- Ten days paid vacation plus federal holidays
- Stipend for medical insurance $1,200 per year
- Full-time. Composed of some office hours and some flexible hours (home or office) and expectation of some evening and weekend hours
- Salary range: $44,000 - $50,000 per year
- Quarterly performance review
