Overview
WinGen Plants is a small multinational plant breeding and product development company based in Austin, Texas, USA. We are part of a large international horticultural network and are dedicated to the breeding and development of novel and innovative ornamental plant varieties. We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities operate smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, HVAC, and general maintenance practices. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various systems within our facilities to ensure a safe and productive environment.
Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician position is responsible for assisting the Facility Supervisor with all operations at WinGen’s facility in Mustang Ridge, Texas. Primary areas of responsibility:
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all structures and systems, as well as the facility grounds.
- Work with the WinGen team to ensure all facility tasks are completed on schedule and to the highest standards.
- Maintain facility grounds as required
- Other duties as assigned
Reporting Relationship
This position will report directly to the Facility Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems Maintenance: HVAC, plumbing, automated systems
- Facility upkeep: Cleaning, Pressure washing, Sanitization, Warehouse Organization, Painting, etc.
- Inventory control
- Assist greenhouse operations (Pot filling, plant disposal, cleaning, irrigation, integrated pest management)
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Employees will work in accordance with WinGen LLC’s employee code of conduct and employment policies. The job is located at WinGen’s Mustang Ridge, TX facility and the employee must provide their own transportation.
- The employee must be authorized to work in the United States and will always maintain this eligibility.
- Ability to work in greenhouse and outdoor agricultural environments. Ability to stand for long periods of time, able to lift 50 lbs.
- Subject to weather conditions which include extreme cold, extreme heat or wet conditions.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
